Fish do not perform sexual intercourse like other animals do, and consequently do not "get pregnant." Instead, during the time when breeding season occurs (which is initiated by changes in temperature, seasonal change, changes in daylight time, etc.), the females will lay their eggs in a secluded spot, and the chosen male that has gained the right to mate with the female will pass over the eggs and excrete sperm over those eggs.
In fish species where females are capable of getting pregnant (such as sharks and rays), males and females mate the same way birds do, with the "cloaca kiss" where the female and male's cloaca briefly meet so that the male can ejaculate sperm into the female.

If your fish is pregnant feed the fish normally until it has the babies. When it gives birth take a small net. ( first get separate bowls for the babies or keep the babies together. But don't keep them in the same bowl as the mother) Take the small net scoop out the babies and put them in the same (or different) bowl. Wait until they are about 3 to 5 weeks old then separate them. KILL IT!
If she is a live bearer her stomach will swell and the gravid spot behind the anal fin become increasingly darker as giving birth draws near. Egg layers may swell a little, but watch for changes in behavior, like her and a mate taking over an area in the tank.
Keep your tank clean and fish happiness at 100% and they will breed when they are mature.
