First you will need to make sure the gun is unloaded. When the gun is completely empty the action will stay open when pulled back. At the end of the forearm there is a metalcap that will uncrew. after that is removed you can then slide the forearm off. The while holding the barrel gently pull it loose while slightly wiggling it. This should give you access to all the main parts of the gun. Assembly is the reverse.
After shooting I use a hoppes bore snake you can get from any gun shop to pull the barrel through, (it's a bit hard to do a pump action chamber to muzzle with normal bore brushes and rods). Every so often you should pull the trigger group out and wash it with solvent or someting similar. Make sure you oil it before assembly to stop rust. To get the trigger group out:
1 UNLOAD
2 Remove magazine and use punches to gently tap the two small pins on the side of the receiver out.
3 Pull the trigger guard down and it comes out. You can assemble by hands with no tools.
You don't really have to take the barrel out to clean it but it is nessecary if you want to get to the bolt really good. Normaly my guns don't need this.
The owner's manual provides instructions for disassembly to the extent necessary to properly clean the shotgun. Replacement owner's manuals are available on the Remington web site.
