How do you disassemble a Stevens model 620 shotgun?

I don't have one in front of me, but if it's like other Model 94s you should be able to just grip the forearm near it's muzzle end and pull it off. It's probably held on by a spring like other 94s.

It is simplest break down you have ever seen. Pull the forward grip back. Unscrew the magazine, that pulls the 'dog ears' from the receiver. Push the forward grip halfway forward. Slide the barrel/magazine assembly down 1/4 inch on the receiver to disengage the forward grip's charging rod from the bolt. Then push the grip all the way forward and the barrel/magazine assembly will be free to slide down for removal.
When you reveres the process, pull the forward grip back as if to load the gun, this will set the charging rod back into place, screw the mag back down... done.

Grip the forearm at the end and firmly pull downand away from the barrel. This will remove the forearm section of the stock.

the buttstock is removed by first removing the two screws holding the buttplate or buttpad on the stock.

second, you will see a long hole bored into the center of the buttstock, insert a very long, often 10" or more) regular screwdriver and gently turn counter clockwise until you are CERTAIN that the tip of the screwdriver is in the slotted end of the screw.

then unscrew that screw and the buttstock will come off the action, they do stick a bit so be VERY careful when wiggling it loose as you can crack or break the thin wood on at the action.

any gunsmith can do this for you for a small fee.

the buttstock does NOT have to be removed to clean or maintain the Savage Fox B and unless it is being replaced or repaired should be left on the firearm.
