Creeping violet/charlie:

A sod cutter is best. Actually remove the infected area and start fresh.

Short of that, many chemical weed killers will treat creeping violet. Many chemicals that treat an extensive list of weeds (like Weed-b-Gone) will need to be applied multiple times before they kill the violets.

Ortho Oxalis/Clover killer works quite well, usually in 1-2 applications. (It comes in a small concentrate bottle that gets mixed in a garden sprayer.) You will probably have to go to a hardware store or garden center to get it. The big box guys do not carry it.

Violet plants produce seeds that are typically not purple; instead, they are usually brown or black.
