That depends on how good of a shot you are and what kind of bow you have. Some bows are more powerful than others. For most shooters with modern bows 30 yards is about the max. Skilled hunters with high end bows will take shots out to 50 yards. As a side note, most bow hunters will use an elevated tree stand. Using a tree stand elevated 15-20 feet off the ground allows the hunter to get off the forest floor and keep his scent footprint to a minimum. Also, the hunter is able to move around a little and draw the bow without being seen by the deer. Most deer taken from elevated tree stands are within the 30 yard range simply because the deer sometimes walk right by them. With careful scouting and proper placement of the stand the deer will sometimes walk within inches of the hunters tree.
15-20 yards if it is a good shot
Depends how fast he is running or how many times he's been shot at I suppose.
The use of rifles in hunting is far more efficient than using a bow; it it much easier to strike and fatally wound a deer with a rifle than with a bow. As such over a set period of time more animals could be killed with a rifle than with a bow. If rifle season was as long as bow season many more deer would be bagged, which would put a strain on the deer population. Thus, bow season is longer than rifle season because rifle hunting does much more "damage" than does bow season.
Yes, a 35 lb. draw weight can kill a deer, you just need to be at a minimum range of 10-20 yards and a maximum range of 30-35 yards in order for the shot to be deadly. My gym teacher's friend he met competition shooting a long time ago once hunted every legal game animal in North America on nothing but a 35 lb. draw weight, so it is possible, Just aim carefully and be far enough away. Happy hunting to you!
Not really. The bow is weighted towards the bottom, so I'm guessing holding it near the tip would actually make you far less accurate.
Nothing realy just that short bow is stronger but dosent shoot as far as a long bow.
it is the only gun i will use for deer it si the perfect size and it shoots far
Longest distance I have seen shot with a .22 in competition is 200 yards. I was using a Winchester model 52B at the time.
