How long a red tailed catfish can stay out of the water depends on the fish in question and how moist the fish's gills are.
Not long. There skin needs to stay moist. They do not travel far away from water.
3 years
Walking catfish can survive out of water for up to 12-18 hours by breathing air through their skin and gills. They use their pectoral fins to move and can travel short distances over land to find a new water source.
That's too long.....no more than a few hours
No
how long can garter snakes stay under water?
Catfish do not give birth in the traditional sense; instead, they lay eggs. Female catfish typically deposit eggs in nests, which can be constructed in various locations such as on the substrate or within crevices. After laying the eggs, the male often fertilizes them and may stay to guard the nest until the eggs hatch, ensuring the safety of the developing fry in the water. This process helps ensure the survival of the young catfish in their aquatic environment.
They can stay under water for 10 seconds.
Fish have a resportory system that in comparaison has about the same limits as most living things. Its like me asking how long can a human stay under water. there are a few exceptions of creatures that can last for a long amount of time in a diffrent enviroment. but that is based upon lung size and the gas exchange and the energy/metabolism of the gas being used. Catfish 1-4mins tho. beyond 2min is pushing it for large older fish. 12 min's has happened before tho that i have seen (note the tank broke and water was in the carpet) .
There are a lot of different catfish that you can get for your home aquarium. Most of them stay small enough that they are easy to keep.
They do not need a heated tank as long as your temperature will naturally stay over 70 degrees which it most likely will. If it does not I would invest in a heater.
a few of the sea animals cannot stay under water for a long time.
