Footprints usually stay in grass for a few days.... If you aren't please with the footprints on your lawn or wherever it is, you can take a rake (preferably plastic, usually bought at Walmart)

and just rake through the grassy area... I hope this helps!

**I do not own the name of Walmart

or any of the Walmart

stores... I do not wish to offend any Walmart

owners, and I am not supporting Walmart

and telling you not to go buy a rake at the store at the corner of your street**

There were recent amazing pictures released to the press of the surface of the moon which showed many of the objects left on the moon including footprints! So you know the footprints last over 40 years because it has been that long since Neil Armstrong made history with the first footprints on the moon. There is no atmosphere on the moon therefore no rain, wind or water flow so the only thing that will destroy the footprints is space debri of either man made materials or rocks such as a meteor storm.
