Tang are a marine species but they still need the same kind of feeding programme that most other fish need. That is at least 2 feeds daily (morning and evening) and only as much as it can eat in 15 minutes.
The tang refers to the sharp spines on the tang fish's tail which are as sharp as a scalpel.

If a blue tang has never eaten fish, it may be classified as a herbivore or an omnivore, depending on its diet consisting primarily of algae and plant matter. Blue tangs typically feed on algae in their natural habitat, but they can also consume small invertebrates. If a blue tang is raised in captivity and has never been exposed to fish as food, its dietary habits may reflect its natural herbivorous tendencies.
You won't need to feed fish as often because it keeps them "full" longer.
