Hunting has been around for millenia; how else did the first humans get their meat and leather? Clearly the animals are still around today, and people have a source of food in these animals. The best compromise would be to ensure that populations are allowed to recover sufficiently and stabilise, and that the animals are being hunted with weapons that will kill humanely instead of leaving an injured animal to die slowly and painfully.
Also, hunters are the only groups that actually contribute to help the animals. PETA, Greenpeace just sue to take this money away!
No. Hunting is good for the ecosystem as long as it is done with respect to wildlife. Most states have high demands on hunters to follow ethical guidelines and regulate what animals can be shot, with what and when. The meat is better than that of cattle and has less negative environmental footprints, it is also expensive and therefore always taken care of.
NO
For hunting sport and self protection.
Self defense, sport, hunting, collecting.
Hunting was classed as a sport in the Tudor times when Henry The 8th enjoyed a day of hunting he classe it as a sport.
No, hunting is not a original Olympic sport.
Sport hunting is a sport when peeps ride horses and shoot deer and stuff
Mushroom hunting isn't a sport that I know of. Cool hobby though.
To my mind, hunting purely for sport is much worse than hunting for commerce - at least commercial whale hunting has a purpose, to use the whale products. However, I leave it to the experts to calculate whether some species of whale could sustain hunting, some certainly cannot at present.
they hunted for food, likely not for sport
No hunting is not cruel, Hunting is a sport. Where do you think all the meat that we eat comes from.
hunting and sport
hunting for food is one thing, hunting for sport is another. I am totally against hunting for sport when you hunt you should try to use as much as possible of the animal. and if the animal is endangered don't hunt them at all we humans can live without fur coats, fur mittens, fur boots, and fur blankets! alaskanorth, animal lover (but not vegetarian)
