I believe it is considered a short action.
Hope This Helps.
Actually, The .308 is a short action cartridge, but has been sold in both long and short actions. It is a shortened version of the 30-06 case, and as such, will feed fine. A long action can feed anything based on the same parent case. The 308 is a shortened 30-06. The 270 is a necked down 06. the 243 is a necked down 308. All will feed fine. Most .308s are short action, but there are a great many that are not. For years savage never made a short action, they just chambered long action rifles in those calibers.
The Remington 700sps in 270 wsm is a short action .
There is no answer to this question, or rather there are many answers. The Rem 700 is the model number of a Remington bollt action rifle. This model was chambered for many different calibers ie. .243, .270, .30-06etc.
Short action

Remington.com has a list

The Remington 700 is a model number. It is chambered in different calibers. The 30-6 being one of them.
A Remington Model 700 chambered for the 7mm 08 cartridge would be a short action as the cartridge is based on the .308 Win.
It would be considered a "short" action.
