Depends on the hunter.

Usually I breast out the smaller ducks like teal, buffleheads, scaup and then take most of the feathers to tie flies with then compost the bodies.

Larger ducks like mallards, canvasbacks, northern pintail etc. I'll pluck all the feathers and keep the whole bodies like a Christmas goose and cook them that way.
