The Annapurna mountains are located east of a gorge cut through the "Himalayas" made by The Kali Gandaki River. Within this range Annapurna 1 is located, in Nepal. Annapurna is the tenth highest mountain in the world. It measures 26, 545 feet high. A French team in 1950 was the first to reach its peak.
