yes-they can. if you want them to know your voice, sing or talk to them often. they love it! i think that talking and singing to them helps them learn words faster, too. (and, they dont feel lonely.) congradulatoins if you just had a baby or someone you know did. arent they the best things in the world? i have a baby sister and a nephew. im 14, by the way. i know that they can distinguish between voices because i read it-just so you dont think im a stupid kid who is answering a question i dont know the answer to. byee :)
