it depends mostly on weight and size, usually by 6 or 7 they might be tall enough or weigh enough to be out of one. look to your car seat for the shoulder height and weight. :)
8 years old
they have to be 12 years old
It's usually determined by a child's height, not age. Once they pass 4'5" (in my municipality) they no longer have to ride in a car seat.
Yes, but if there is a air bag it has to be turned off and the child must be in a booster seat.
All children under 8 years old are required to ride in a child safety seat or booster seat unless they are taller than 4 feet 9 inches.
A child should be at least 4 years old and weigh at least 40 pounds before moving to a booster seat.
A child should be at least 4 years old and weigh at least 40 pounds before switching to a booster seat.
A booster seat is recommended for a 6-year-old child. Booster seats help position the seat belt correctly on the child's body for maximum safety in the car.
In Michigan, children must be at least 4 years old to ride in the front seat of a vehicle, provided they are secured in a properly installed child safety seat or booster seat. However, the safest practice is to keep children in the back seat until they are 13 years old, as it reduces the risk of injury in a crash. Always ensure that the vehicle's airbags are disabled if a child is riding in the front seat.
The recommended age for transitioning a child from a booster seat with a back to a booster seat without a back is typically around 8 to 12 years old, or when the child reaches a height of 4 feet 9 inches.
I tried to get my pa to ride in the booster seat because he is gettin' kinda short in his old age but he just refuses. You think your 5-year old is stubborn? You ain't never dealt with pa.
In the UK yes, but if they are under 140 centimetres tall, they are required to use a booster seat/child seat. (But that goes for the back of the car, as well as the front).
