For girls: If they have thick hair, choppy layers are a big hit right now. With thinner hair, layers are also a good idea, but they should be less choppy and more blended. For boys, the big thing is the "beiber" which would go great with medium length hair.
Yes, most scene hair is actually medium length, but they wear extensions. :3
hen you have short/medium hair
One may find photos of medium haircuts from many different places. Multiple hair styling websites have access to photos for many different hairstyles one may be looking for, including medium haircuts.
Common hair cut lengths requested at salons include short, medium, and long. Short haircuts typically fall above the shoulders, medium haircuts fall around the shoulders, and long haircuts extend past the shoulders.
Try a few layers around your chin. Don't go for bangs. If you want to go REALLY drastic then just go to the hair dresser and say "do what you think will look best".
For a girl you could have layers or feathers. But I don't know about hair cuts for boys. Sorry!!

Mid-length hair, with a side fringe, and layers. Or long wavy hair, with long layers. Maybe quite short hair straightened would look good too.
