Bypap, or bilevel positive airway pressure, is a type of non-invasive ventilation used to treat respiratory conditions such as sleep apnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It delivers two levels of pressure: a higher pressure during inhalation to assist with breathing and a lower pressure during exhalation. This dual pressure system helps improve airflow and reduce the work of breathing, enhancing oxygenation and overall respiratory function. It is typically administered through a mask connected to a ventilator.
