This does not have a simple answer. Children usually follow one of their parents growth rates. In general, the child's weight must be considered along with other measurements. 90% of 24 month old girls weigh between 14.6 and 10.2 kg (32.5 to 22.5 lb) and have a height between 92 to 80 cm (36 to 31.5 in). One should expect taller children to weigh more, shorter weigh less.

The early age charts include head circumference, age, length and weight. The older age charts include age, height, and weight. Boys and girls have separate charts as they have growth spurts at different ages.

Your child's measurements should follow one of the many curves on the pediatric charts throughout childhood (see Related links, below). If your child's head circumference, age, height and weight diverge from some initial curve or are outside the set of normal curves, please consult a pediatrician doctor.
