YES!
Why would you want directions to a crib that has been recalled?
If you go to Delta's website you can complete the form and will be sent a retrofit kit. If you no longer use the crib or prefer to replace the crib, it should be destroyed. If you watch the Toys-R-Us website, they will occasionally offer to take recalled cribs in exchange for 20% Off a purchase. Recalled cribs should never be sold in garage sales or on sites like Craigslist. Unfortunately many people do try to unload recalled and unsafe baby gear in this manner.
NO all drop side cribs were not recalled. The new law passed by government is that manufacturers can no longer produce a drop side crib. However, if a consumer has a drop side crib that is not under recall is still ok to use. Please refer to the CPSC.gov website to determine if your crib is under recall. If not, then you should feel safe in using your crib with the drop side.
yep!
Not according to the CPSC and Simmons websites.
If your crib was manufactured between 2000 and 2004 it is under the recall. You can research the information with this recall at http://safety.evenflo.com
A good idea would be to research crib models that have been recalled. Dorel brand cribs have recently been recalled because of a suffocation hazard; the drop-side of the crib is flimsily attached, and the child can roll down and get stuck between the mattress and the crib. I recommend the DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 convertible crib; it's one of the most positively reviewed cribs, plus it converts into a toddler bed.
To find the answer to your questions for your particular crib, go to wwwcribrecallcenter.com. You can then look at pictures of your crib and parts, get instructional videos, and find out if your crib is on a recall list. You can also get free parts sent to you if needed.
No, check the Delta website for list of all Delta crib recalls. http://www.deltacribrecall.com/recalled_products.asp
A lot of these have been recalled, please make sure yours isn't one.
If you can't put a grapefruit through the bars it's probably safe. Also, check online to make sure that particular crib has not been recalled. Be sure to check for sharp edges inside the crib and ensure there is not a gap between the mattress and the sides of the crib.
