Daughter of Gaia ( also spelled Gaea ) and Poseidon
Charybdis is a figure from Greek mythology, often depicted as a monstrous sea creature. According to the myths, her parents are Poseidon, the god of the sea, and Gaia, the personification of Earth. Charybdis or Kharybdis, was the monster which could consume sea water and expel it, Odysseus' ship was caught by Charybdis/Kharybdis. Part of a Duo (Scylla or Skylla & Charybdis or Kharybdis), which are two large rocks near Sicily, and get their names from this duo of fierce Mythological Sea Creatures.
