Because their gums hurt from their teeth coming through therefore they chew on random things i suggest if you have a child rememeber this. Get them a teething ring and freeze it.

Or.. The particular object might be new to them OR.. it might just be because THEY R TODDLERS AND THEY WANT TO PUT THINGS IN THEIR MOUTHS BECAUSE ... because they're awesome like that =D
