Little Miss America was the first known "child" beauty pageant. However, some of the older "Glitzy" pageants are Cover Miss and Sunburst. These are more recognized names in the world of child pageants
Depends on what kind of pageant it is. Some common portions in a beauty pageant for adults are swimwear/fitness, talent, evening wear, and onstage question. While child beauty pageants may have swimwear, talent, outfit of choice/theme, and beauty. There is one portion of a pageant that is not executed on stage... the private interview. Before pageant day, the judges may take each contestant aside and interview them about different things. This is different from the onstage question because in the interview the judges can ask the contestants more than one question and its a great way to get to know a little more about the contestants personality. These are typically only held for adult pageants such as Miss U.S.A. and Miss America.
For a child's beauty pageants contest, they should be trained regarding their posture, balance in walking, turning, head control and eye contact.

usually you can enter them in some online. just go to Google or Bing and search" child beauty pageants" and there will be some websites with open pageants. or, if you are on a mail order list, sometimes pageant directors send out fliers to attract more contestants. that's how my child started pageants, and now she loves them. i also enter her in pageants through the Internet.
Kayla Hatton appeared on the reality series "Toddlers & Tiaras" in Season 5, specifically in Episode 2, titled "Texas: The Pageant of the Year." She was featured in the episode showcasing her participation in a beauty pageant, highlighting the competitive world of child beauty pageants.
10 years of age is not too young to enter in certain types of beauty pageants. It is recommended for a child to start off in a natural beauty pageant, which prohibits makeup from little babies 0-3 years of age. If you are 10 years of age, then you are allowed blush, mascara, gloss, but it has to look natural. It is a great way to start off your pageant career path.
JonBenet Ramsey was known for being a child beauty pageant contestant. Unfortunately, she died in a homicide and the case has yet to be solved by law enforcement.
