We know so little about Shakespeare's emotional life, we can only guess. It is likely that there were struggles of some kind or other arising out of his being an 18-year old husband and father with no job skills, or at least nothing he could make a living at in Stratford.

We know so little about Shakespeare's personal life that we cannot answer this. It is true that in the period between 1600 and 1608, more or less, he wrote a lot of plays with darker themes, including his great tragedies and the dark comedies like Measure for Measure, Troilus and Cressida and All's Well that Ends Well. Whether this was a symptom of Shakespeare's state of mind at the time or whether it was more a reflection of the spirit of the times is hard to say.
