Why do you care what I think? I could be a complete idiot who thinks Alexander Pushpin is the inventor of the cork board and William Shakespeare makes fishing reels.
As it happens, they are both authors. Read something by each of them and make up your own mind.
Because Shakespeare changed the world for the better with his plays.

In Sonnet 18 William Shakespeare compares the young man he is writing about (probably Henry Wriothesley - though other identifications are possible) to a Summers Day. Bill thinks Henry is even better than a Summers Day:- for one thing, Henry never rains.
The question arises whether Shakespeare is more famous than Homer Simpson or Sonic the Hedgehog or Spongebob Squarepants or some other person. It depends what group of people you are talking about. Among Americans who are poorly educated and watch a lot of TV, Homer Simpson is probably more famous than Shakespeare. Among some video gamers, maybe Sonic is more famous than Shakespeare. Among the billions of people who are not inundated with American culture, Shakespeare is probably the better known person.

They are not really unique. There are many many plays by Shakespeare's contemporaries, many of which are better than the worst of Shakespeare's plays. Shakespeare was just one of a large number of people writing plays. But what history has shown is that Shakespeare, when he was on his game, was a far better playwright than any of his contemporaries and anyone else before or since. He was not unique, but he was and is the best.
The first single-volume edition of Shakespeare's plays was a book called "Mr. William Shakespeare, his Histories, Tragedies and Comedies", better known as the First Folio, published in 1623.
William the conquerer would win because he had better weapons and armor. Also he had tons of archers while Alexander the Great only had a good infantry.
William Shakespeare wrote "Better three hours too soon than a minute too late" in his play "The Merry Wives of Windsor." The line is spoken by the character Falstaff.
There are absolutely no records of Shakespeare's private life, so if he ever did such a thing, we would have no way of knowing. There is no reason to think he did.
Reasonably well off might express it better. His family had no reason to complain, but they were not about to buy the whole town of Stratford.
Both William Shakespeare and Dante Alighieri were exceptional writers in their own rights. Shakespeare's works are renowned for their storytelling and character development, while Dante's "Divine Comedy" is a masterpiece of allegorical storytelling and exploration of theology. Ultimately, the choice of "better" writer would depend on personal preferences and criteria for evaluating literature.

A man called Harold Bloom wrote a book called "William Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human" in which he falls short of claiming that Shakespeare invented the human race but does make the rather large claim that Shakespeare invented characterization in drama. It's a claim that holds no water even though Shakespeare's characters are more subtle and layered than those of his earliest contemporaries. Bloom claims that Shakespeare's characters exist outside of the context of the plays they are in. This makes no sense: we would not know the characters without the plays. In short, Shakespeare's ideas were not new, but he did what he did better and more expertly than most playwrights before or since.
Think of new plays or ways he could make things better by taking a day to refresh his mind. Or maybe just to admire the scenery
