Most: no

There are so many comedian's it's hard to get a paid show. You have to be good and know the right people. My first paid show I got $15 and a lap dance. Most of my shows are free. I do shows for $300. Now let's factor in a few things; flyers, gas, hotel, the band. And what about all the other money You have to put into it? Business cards, demo cds, camera, P.A. system, mics, lights, t shirts. If your agent finds you the gig, he's going to want a good chunk out of it.
Odds are, you will lose more money than you make unless you get famous.
But's it's worth it

they dont like them --- We hate them. Although, to be fair, Irish comedians of course make a lot of jokes about the Irish which are accepted. But that is only because Irish comedians say things that the Irish can relate to. Whereas, when people outside of Ireland make Irish jokes, they're usually based on stereotypes and can be extremely insulting.
