You need lots of Ballet. I recommend starting at a very young age if you want to be professional. Jazz is also a good dance style to have under your belt if you want to be a dancer. If your looking at being a Musical Theater dancer then you NEED to have tap. You never know when you could be asked to tap dance.

The only thing to REALLY remember is NOT to call a male dancer a BALLERINA. This name not only is incorrect, it creates the wrong perception of the male dancer. That is soft, girly and fairy like. Or just "dancer." I know an especially popular and fitting one--"brave."
