I know i think that's it's actually very typical. Shakespeare has a style of somewhat serious, yet extremely funny plays. However, i do think that throughout this play in particular the fairies are somewhat unusual and the fact that Bottom is turned into a donkey is somewhat unusual too....but again i think it is kinda typical.
