Yes, the opposite effect in girls is called an Electra complex.
A Freudian theory that all young boys (like ago three to five, I believe) begin to see their fathers as a threat in their affection from their mother, and they begin to wish to kill their fathers and have a sexual relationship with the mother. For girls, this is called the Electra complex, and it is the same, only they wish to kill their mothers.
what blessing does oedipus have
That he will execute or exile him is what Oedipus says that he will do to Laius' killer in "Oedipus Rex" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, the Delphic oracle advises that the pestilence in Thebes will end only with the identification and punishment by execution or exile of Laius' killer. Theban King Oedipus is Laius' royal successor. It therefore is his responsibility to find the guilty and then apply one of the two punishments defined by the gods.
Jocasta is the name of Oedipus' wife in "Oedipus Rex" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, Theban King Oedipus is married to the Theban Queen. His wife's name is Jocasta. She is his first and only wife, but Oedipus is Jocasta's second husband.
But Oedipus is not alone in "Oedipus Rex" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, Theban King Oedipus is married with children. His wife is Queen Jocasta. King Laius is Jocasta's first husband.
Generally speaking the Oedipus complex is not reliable. The only time it can be reliable is in situations where the child being raised has met some sort of extreme trauma.
Not exactly. The Oedipus Complex applies only to boys (from the age of three to five. Otherwise, the complex doesn't apply), so it's when boys sexually desire their mothers and view their fathers as rivals for their mother's love. When females sexually desire their fathers, it's called the Electra Crisis.

Usually when a female chooses bad boys the factors involved are not only connected with the Oedipus complex. Anyway the female Oedipus complex is called Electra complex and it is connected with an attempt to fall in love for the father in order to bring him away from the mother. Anyway these things are not that simple. In my experience the so called pre-Oedipal stages ( the stages before the Oedipal complex ) influence this much, much more. Usually there are factors involved which came into play even before Oedipus for example connected with the chest of the mother or the behavior of the father or with the absence of the mother or an excessive authoritarian presence of her mother. For example one common factor is a conflict with a too authoritarian mother. A typical trait of the females who get involved with bad boys is that they had an authoritarian mother who did not give them space and love enough. For this reason when the bad boy comes the girl is not able to recognize him as such. She feels she can be free with him and feel all the forbidden emotions she was not allowed herself to feel for the authoritarian behavior of the mother. On the converse another group of girls are the ones who grew up in borderline families where the mother was without borders, asocial and totally spoiled herself. For this reason the girl is used to guys who are spoiled and borderline and is unable to recognize the bad boy for such. The absence of father or the presence of an abusive father also play a very important role. If a safe male figure is absent from her childhood or there is an abusive male figure she may be very prone to fall for the bad boy.
Oedipus did not die. He only blinded himself. At the time when he dethroned himself it is estimated he was around 50.
