(From Act I Scene ii)
Julia was the name for a daughter of a member of the Julius family. Those from the Caesar branch were called Julia Caesaris. Clearly it was not important to the Romans to dictinguish one woman from another: Julius Caesar had an aunt, two cousins, two sisters and a daughter by this name. One of the cousins was the mother of Mark Antony; one of the sisters was the grandmother of Augustus. All of these women died natural deaths. However, Julia the Elder (whose name was also Julia Caesaris) is the name given to the daughter of the first emperor Augustus. She had been married to Augustus's stepson Tiberius but in 2 BC was convicted of adultery and disowned by both her father and her husband. She was imprisoned on a tiny island with practically no human contact for five years by Augustus. After his death, the new emperor, her former husband Tiberius, locked her in solitary confinement and starved her to death in 14 AD. Of course Gaius Julius Caesar, who was murdered in 44 BC by a group of conspirators was someone else altogether.

Claudius's first love was likely his cousin, the Roman empress Livia Drusilla. Their relationship is often noted for its complexities, as Livia was married to Claudius's brother, Tiberius. However, Claudius's romantic feelings for Livia reflect the intricate dynamics of Roman family and political alliances. Ultimately, Livia's marriage to Tiberius overshadowed any potential relationship with Claudius.
No, Octavia was not the daughter of Claudius; she was his sister. Octavia was the daughter of Emperor Augustus and his third wife, Livia Drusilla. Claudius, who later became Emperor, was actually her nephew, as he was the son of her brother, Drusus.
The parents of Tiberius were Tiberius Claudius Nero and Livia Drusilla. His adopted father was the emperor Augustus.
The emperor Claudius, whose full imperial name was Tiberius Claudius Augustus Caesar Germanicus, was born into the Julio-Claudian family. He was the son of Drusus the Elder (who was the son of Livia) and Antonia the Younger (daughter of Augustus' sister Octavia and Marc Antony)
