pantomime
Roman theater evolved from earlier Greek traditions, incorporating elements such as elaborate stage designs, more dynamic performances, and a broader range of genres, including comedy, tragedy, and farce. It emphasized spectacle and entertainment, often featuring elaborate costumes and props, as well as the use of music and dance. Over time, it became more focused on popular appeal, leading to the development of genres like mime and pantomime. Ultimately, Roman theater laid the groundwork for later European theatrical traditions.
