How can hazard identification happen at the planning and evaluation stage?

The hazard identification process sets the foundation for

the remainder of the Safety Case process. All hazards are

identified during this phase so they can be assessed and

safely managed. Therefore the technique selected should:

• be systematic and structured

• faster creative thinking about possible hazards that

have not previously been experienced

• be appropriate for the facility

• consider which approach will extract the maximum

quantity of useful information. It should be appropriate

for the people involved.
