The reasons a boy or man may have against wearing tights for stage or dance will be personal to himself. This part of the answer is for the boy or man who is asking himself why he has such an anxiety. The first step is to realize the anxiety itself is the problem, because tights are widely worn by males in the performing arts, it is totally acceptable. Schools are now doing musicals such as "Cats" where almost all the cast wears unitards, which are tights for the whole body, including boys as well as girls. 99.9% of people get stage fright. I've heard people such as Carol Brunett and others say they thought they would 'chuck their cookies' before going out on stage. Many actors never get over it, but once they get into the work of acting they soon forget about it.
