Well, the Lambada is a very sensual dance, like the samba, mambo and salsa... Lambada was commonly knows as the 'Dirty Samba' because of the similar movements and timing. The perfect song for lambada is French pop group Kaoma's 'Lambada'... once you get into the rhythm of the song, it becomes much easier. First, start with your right foot, remember, you'll be dancing this on the balls of your feet, so I recommend very high heels, or no shoes at all. Do a small 'kick' outwards and step 3 times on the spot, moving very slightly to the side, or turning, depending on what your partner wants to do. Remember to arch your knees and the positioning of the body is: stand very close to your partner, literally pelvis to pelvis.. if you're female, put your hand on his shoulder, and the other in his hand, if you're male, put only hand on her lower back, and the other in her hand. The dance is generally only danced to the side, or twisting, not to the front or back, although it can be done. Look on YouTube for a video of the Lambada, and incorporate that style in your dancing. Keep your hips moving to the rhythm, and don't worry about the steps, it's a very loose dance, one that you really have to feel. No one is really focusing on how well you do the actual step, just get it more or less, and feel the music. Hope I helped :)
