it depends on the requirements of the director and how good the other dancers auditioning are, but from my experience, these are some good things to be able to do at an audition:
splits, all three is best
be able to kick almost to your face with at least one leg (right or left)
a triple pirouette is good
smile! look like you're having the time of your life
leaps that are full split or really close to full split
ability to pick up choreography
something to keep in mind is that it looks better to do something clean rather than something sloppy, like if you can't do a perfectly clean triple then just stick with a reeally good double. or if you cant kick all the way to your head, don't bring your chest to your leg and just keep it clean with straight knees.

I was on the Poms Team at my middle school in 8th grade (just this last year). Poms is definatley not as high leveled as a high school dance team. I would mainly say in Poms you focus on learning multiple routines and some (very little in my case) teqnique. When I tried out for my high school dance team, I did not make it. It was very intense learning all of the teqnique. I have since started taking dance classes, as Poms really did not prepare me for it. So basically, for Poms I would say you need the ablility to dance, and be able to do basic turns, kicks, leaps etc.
