In Scene 1, Sebastian and Antonio create a story of a monster to explain why their swords are drawn. Gonzalo connects this with a "buzzing" in his ears which was Ariel trying to wake him up.

In Scene 2, Trinculo mistakes Caliban for a fish and Stefano mistakes Trinculo and Caliban together for a four-legged monster. Caliban mistakes Stefano and Trinculo for deities when they are only drunks.

Throughout Act 2, the characters mistake the drab reality for a magical illusion.

In Act 2 Scene 2 of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet speaks what she thinks is a soliloquy but which really isn't because Romeo is hiding in the bushes eavesdropping.

In Act 2 Scene 2 of Macbeth, the scene opens with a short soliloquy from Lady Macbeth about how the murder is a turn-on for her. Later, when she leaves to put the daggers back in the king's bedroom, Macbeth has a short soliloquy about his horror at the blood on his hands. These soliloquys enable the murder to take place offstage without boring the audience. Showing how people outside of the murder room are reacting to what is going on inside is rather clever--people's reactions to actions are often more convincing than the actions themselves.

In Act 2 Scene 2 of Hamlet, Hamlet has a terrific soliloquy starting "Oh, what a rogue and peasant slave am I", an excellent example of how the plot can be moved forward by a soliloquy, by having the main character formulate a plan aloud.

Act 2 Scene 2 of The Tempest starts with a soliloquy by Caliban, who explains his anger at Prospero. Then follows one of those quasi-soliloquies like the one in Romeo and Juliet, where Trinculo thinks he is all alone but in fact he is being overheard by Caliban.

Launcelot Gobbo opens Act 2 Scene 2 of The Merchant of Venice with a soliloquy which is more like a stand-up comedy routine.

Viola's soliloquy in Act 2 Scene 2 of Twelfth Night is probably the most famous Act 2 Scene 2 soliloquy apart from Hamlet's. It is also called the "Ring Speech" in which she realizes that Olivia has sent her a ring because she is in love with Viola, believing her to be a man. Viola feels sorry for poor Olivia, and reviews the triangle of unrequited love between Olivia, Orsino and herself.

Act 2 Scene 2 is full of people speaking while others are asleep in A Midsummer Night's Dream, but they are not really soliloquys.

Act 2 Scene 2 of Measure for Measure ends with Angelo's well-known soliloquy in which he discovers to his discomfiture that he lusts after Isabella, and wrestles with his conscience as his desire for her suggests a number of immoral and unlawful ideas to him.

In Cymbeline, Iachimo has a quasi-soliloquy in which he speaks to himself while in the bedroom of the sleeping Imogen, which also takes place in Act 2 Scene 2.

Some plays do not have a soliloquy in Act 2 Scene 2: Julius Caesar, Coriolanus, Othello, Richard III, and Henry V for example.

What does An open arse and thou a poperin pear mean?

It's a sexual pun used by Shakespeare's character Mercutio in Act 2 Scene1 of Romeo and Juliet. "Poperin pear" is Shakespearean slang for penis. It should also be noted that "open arse" is a disputed edit - some translations include the words "open et caetera"; these are however attributable to early censorship of obscene language. "Open arse" is more likely to be the words used in Shakespeare's original (although no such original text of Shakespeare exists today), as it scans better than the alternative, fitting with the iambic pentameter of the verse. Either way it's definitely sexual bawdiness because earlier in the same passage there's a reference to the fruit of a "Medlar" tree. If one searches for "Medlar fruit" online, you will see that, it certainly resembles something of a bodily orifice. In addition to this, the medlar fruit was also referred to in Shakespeare's day as an "open arse". The pun was made by Mercutio in reference to Romeo's obsession with Rosaline, whom Mercutio believed to be the object of Romeo's affections, however by this stage in the play Romeo's infatuation with Rosaline had been superseded by his love for Juliet.

How is the prince of Morocco presented in this Act2 scene1?

One way in which Shakespeare describes the Prince of Morocco is that he is anxious to compensate for the colour of his skin. He shows himself to be ashamed and insecure. However his character is proud because after he remarks on his skin colour he proceeds to defend it and boasts about himself,' ...this aspect of mine/ Hath fear'd the valiant…The best regarded virgins of our clime/Have lov'd it too…A second way in which Shakespeare describes morocco's character is that he is competitive, he challenges Portia to compare his blood with the whitest of men to see whose is the reddest.'Bring me the fairest creature…And let us make incision for your love/ to prove whose blood is reddest, or mine.'Another way in which Shakespeare describes morocco's character is that he is boastful:Bring me the fairest creature northward bornHe also tries to win Portia's hand in marriage by saying things like:Pluck the young sucking cubs from the she bearorYea, mock the Lion when he roars for his prey.A way in which Shakespeare describes Morocco is that he likes to brag about himself:He thinks he's better than any white person.andThe best regarded virgins at our climehave loved it to.
