Stage direction is just the part of the drama that lets the actor/actress know where to move. It plays an important role in drama. For instance; a character might be spying on another character. but because of dramatic irony only we know that the character is spying because only WE see them. If there was no direction, we wouldn't be able to see the character spying which could unravel the whole performance and make it incomprehensible and a waste of money. Also it is just good for the performance in changing scenes and making a performance interesting. It would be very boring if all the characters stayed in one spot the whole time, not moving an inch.
