There are many different personality types, and they all lend themselves differently to preparing for and acting in a play. If you enjoy being onstage and beign watched, and playing characters, then you will almost certainly enjoy being in a play. If you do not enjoy these things, then you probably will have a slightly painful experience acting in a play.
Life experience is one of the most important things and a strong sense of empathy for any character that you choose to play. I would say that taking an acting class with a really good instructor would be a good way to find out if acting is something you might enjoy.

Eddie Murphy took a acting class when he was only 13 years old
Ross Lynch did not attend a formal acting school. He gained acting experience primarily through his work on Disney Channel, particularly in "Austin & Ally." Bottom is overly confident in his acting abilities and believes himself to be a talented actor. He is convinced that he can play any role, regardless of his lack of skill or experience. This leads to humorous and exaggerated performances throughout the play.
