When Friar Laurence says Romeo is being hasty how does Romeo defend himself?

He says that his love for Juliet is real, unlike his infatuation with Rosaline.

How was romeo and Juliet a story of hasty decisions?

The fact that they both commit suicide before really knowing that one or the other is dead I think is pretty hasty. All they had to do is wait a bit. The whole story has decisions like that through out the story.

What was Romeo doing when he saw Juliet?

From Shmoop Literature on Romeo and Juliet http://www.shmoop.com/events/literature/william-shakespeare/romeo-and-juliet.html Summary We meet our hero, Romeo, after a duel between the young men of two enemy families of Verona: the Montagues and the Capulets. Romeo Mongtague is pining away for Rosaline, a girl we never see. Juliet Capulet, age thirteen, has just heard that Paris, Verona's attractive young bachelor, would like to marry her. The two will meet that night at a masquerade ball at the Capulets' house. Romeo and his friends have decided to crash the Capulet ball - in costume - because Rosaline is on the guest list. Romeo meets Juliet there instead, and they fall madly in love. Afterwards, they discover they are members of rival families, but they are still in love. Romeo stays after the party under Juliet's balcony, and the two use this romantic meeting to plan their marriage. Hasty, but genuine.

What is the simile in Death lies upon her like an untimely frost?

It means that it is ironic that death or frost has fallen on the most beautiful flower and not on some common or hasty flower hence is like Juliet as she has taken the potion, which is thought to make her dead and is like death falling onto the most prosperous young female.

What reason does Paris give the friar for the hasty marriage?

Paris told the friar that he wanted to marry Juliet quickly in order to cheer her up. Her cousin Tybalt had just been murdered and he said that he wanted to have the wedding celebration to take her mind off of it.
