Is this wrong/weird

My mom is 100% American. Since she was a teen, she's been obsessed with Egypt, and started trying to seem like an Egyptian woman. She photoshops herself to look Egyptian, tells everyone she was born in Egypt, and uses the fake name Aisha. There's so much more but I can't go into it all. She married my Egyptian father at 18. I am Egyptian because of his genes. I get discriminated all the time due to it. People call me a terrorist, spit on me, throw things at me etc. It really hurts me because I feel like she does all that to have fun/look cute but never has to deal with what I do. I really need to know, are my feelings justified?
