Well, other people may have other opinions, but I think that almost everything makes America beautiful. If there wasn't any pollution or anything, that would make America better, but I still think that America is beautiful. One of motto's is "Everything and everyone is beautiful in their own way." So I hope this answers your question.

Alternate Answer

What makes America beautiful is the diverse amounts of people of different religious backgrounds and origins. What makes America beautiful is the vast amounts of parks and scenery's all around the country. What makes America beautiful is the freedom and openness of the law and the people. What makes America beautiful is the opportunity and the education. What makes America beautiful is not only the nature, but the innovation. We make America beautiful and you can too.

"America the Beautiful" is an American patriotic song.

The lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates,

and the music was composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A. Ward.

1.) O beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea!

2.) O beautiful for pilgrim feet

Whose stern impassion'd stress

A thoroughfare for freedom beat

Across the wilderness

America! America!

God mend thine ev'ry flaw,

Confirm thy soul in self-control,

Thy liberty in law.

3.) O beautiful for heroes prov'd

In liberating strife,

Who more than self their country lov'd,

And mercy more than life.

America! America!

May God thy gold refine

Till all success be nobleness,

And ev'ry gain divine.

4.) O beautiful for patriot dream

That sees beyond the years

Thine alabaster cities gleam

Undimmed by human tears.

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea.

The Original poem America.

A Poem for July 4. As written by Katharine Lee Bates in 1893

O beautiful for halcyon skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the enameled plain!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee,

Till souls wax fair as earth and air

And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet

Whose stern, impassioned stress

A thoroughfare for freedom beat

Across the wilderness!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee

Till paths be wrought through wilds of thought

By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale

Of liberating strife,

When once or twice, for man's avail,

Men lavished precious life!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee

Till selfish gain no longer stain,

The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream

That sees beyond the years

Thine alabaster cities gleam

Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee

Till nobler men keep once again

Thy whiter jubilee!

Who turned the poem America the Beautiful into a song?

It was 'America The Beautiful' and the lyrics (actually meant as a poem) were written by Katharine Lee Bates an English professor at Wellesley College in 1883. The poem was published in 1884 to celebrate the Fourth of July. It soon caught on and an amended version was published in 1904 and 1913. Some pieces of music were adapted to the poem and the Hymn tune composed in 1882 by Samuel A. Ward was considered the best music as early as 1910 and is still a popular tune today. During the John F. Kennedy Administration there were efforts to make 'America the Beautiful the National Anthem in place of the Star Spangled Banner, but so far has not succeeded. America the Beautiful was popularized after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Some sporting events will open with America the Beautiful rather than the Star Spangled Banner as the Anthem.
