If you are trying out for cheerleading, there will probably be a clinic where they teach you a cheer and a dance. When the clinic is over they will ask you to show the judges your flexibility, standing tumbling, running tumbling, jumps, stunting, and perform your cheer and dance.

Well, the actual floor for both is the same- a 40 by 40 inch floor. But the men only do tumbling, while the women do tumbling and dance.
sort but once i get us to it it is ~ it depends on what u have to do. at my school we had to do the cheer and dance we learned and they looked at our motion and enthusiasm and tumbling. so it just depends on if u know the cheer and/or dance they teach u and if ur motions and enthusiam is good...but not always do they look at your tumbling.
It depends on the school. Some schools require no tumbling at all, you just have to be able to smile, dance, and cheer. However, some schools look for girls with higher tumbling skills such as backhandsprings and tucks

i am a level 9 gymnast myself and 11 years old,for all levels you dance a depending on the level tells what tumbling you have to do ,but for levels 4,5,and 6 all the girls do the same floor dance and tumbling.but for level 7 and higher your coach makes up your tumbling passes and dance.also the music.
