Square Pegs is the name of the sitcom, She only came out in four episodes though.
After 1585 when he was still in Stratford and had no connection with the theatre, but before 1592, when a guy called Robert Greene quoted one of his plays in print.
"There is an upstart crow beautified with our feathers that, with his 'tiger's heart wrapped in a player's hide,' supposes he is as well able to bombast out a blank verse as the best of you; being an absolute Johannes Factotum, in his conceit the only shake-scene in a country." Robert Greene Groatsworth of Wit (1592)
"Pay him six thousand, and deface the bond. Double six thousand, and treble that, before a friend of this description shall lose a hair through Bassanio's fault." Jessica has just told her that "he would rather have Antonio's flesh than twenty times the sum that he did owe him" but Portia apparently does not take this seriously.
We have no record of anyone who declared himself to be Shakespeare's enemy. Robert Greene wrote some snarky remarks about him in 1592, but he was a sick and disappointed man and died soon after. Other than that, nobody seems to have disliked him. In this respect he was quite unlike Ben Jonson, who had a habit of ruffling feathers, got involved in a war of dramatists, wrote a play that got most of the production team thrown in jail, and killed a man in a duel. For all of his prickliness, though, he and Shakespeare were apparently good friends.
All we can say for sure is that whichever play was Shakespeare's first, it was performed before 1592. That is the date that Robert Greene makes sarcastic remarks about Shakespeare's plays and parodies a line from Henry VI Part III. Therefore we know that Part III was performed before 1592. But that doesn't tell us how much before 1592 it was performed or whether other plays were also put on before that date. The customary way for someone to learn the playwriting trade was for that person to start by helping another playwright by writing a single scene or contributing some dialogue to the other playwright's play. Shakespeare's first dramatic writing may have been a scene in one of George Peele's plays. After that he would have been given more and more to write, so he would have been writing half of his or another writer's play before actually writing a whole play on his own. Some people think that some of his early plays have scenes contributed by other playwrights. For this reason, the idea that one of Shakespeare's plays was his first may be somewhat misleading.
