Depends which "new and old" movies you are talking about. Significant movies have been made of Romeo and Juliet in 1936, 1955, 1968, 1996 and 2013. In the 1936 movie all of the actors are middle-aged, including Romeo and Juliet; in the others Romeo and Juliet are much younger. In the 1996 movie the settings and costumes are all about 90s California, whereas the 1955, 1968 and 2013 ones are definitely Italian Renaissance. The 1955 movie has a lot of dialogue cut out, as does the 1996 movie, but the 2013 movie has new dialogue written more or less in Shakespeare's style (but inferior).
