summary:the story is trying to tell us about the seasons that the winter passed and spring has arrive so in the farms the scarecrow helps to blow away the crows.


line one and two: all through the winter the scarecrow has nothing to do so he bows his head under the heavy rain.
line three and four: the wind is coming from north pole so it is very cold and rain freezes and drops as snow and falls on scarecrow but because wind is strong it blows the snow away from scarecrow.
line five and six: many stars are shining in the sky so the frost on scare crow glitters because of those stars.
line six and seven: the scarecrow stands up the cut stalks of cereal plants left in the ground after harvesting and he is comparing himself to mail/armor as he is also not able to make movement freely like armor so he is stiff in the morning as sun has not risen and later in the day the sun rises and softens scarecrow down.LINE 9 - 16
But when the spring season comes in full bloom on the land which is a home to the scarecrow, it feels a certain amount of delight and hope within him. the scarecrow lifts its dull eyes and searches the vast sky for crows; the crows which are the black colored enemies of his strange master.

The scarecrow watches his master's long, stiff but steady steps that show his excitement for the spring season. the scarecrow knows now that the cereal plants would soon grow in the fields which was covered with snow in the winters. very soon the scarecrow will be able to see the vast fields covered with grain shining due to the sunlight and this was the time that he was long waiting for.
