Be beautiful, wear red, be confident.
To avoid overspending as a beauty pageant contestant, create a clear budget that outlines all potential expenses, including outfits, makeup, and travel. Consider borrowing or renting outfits instead of purchasing new ones, and seek sponsorships or partnerships to offset costs. Additionally, focus on DIY options for makeup and hairstyling, and prioritize essential items while being resourceful. Lastly, connect with other contestants to share tips and resources, promoting a sense of community and collaboration.
I used to work in a National American Miss office, so I have the answer! :-) To be accepted to be in a National American Miss pageant, you need a "B" or better grade average in school, plus you need to show some quality activities and interests. They do take into account your age. For example, they know that high school senior has access to more opportunities and activities than a middle school student. These things are not "scored" at the event, but they are important for your admission to be in the pageant. Importantly, NAM is proud of bringing a modern empowering approach to pageantry. There is no swimsuit category in their competition, and they do not have a score for "beauty." It is about fun, communication, achievement and being the best you that you can be. So, they do not ask for your measurements, eye color, or any other thing like that. The quickest and easiest way is you can apply online at www.namiss.com, or you can call the pageant office and they will mail you an application. To find out the phone number of the pageant office for your state, as well as the dates and location of your state event, you can click on your state at www.namiss.com/findyourstate If you are accepted to be in the pageant, they will send you tons of helpful stuff, magazines, tips, newsletters, and e-mails. They presume that you have never been in an event like this before, so they send you everything you need. Also, you can see videos (right now) to help you prepare and see what the event is like at www.namiss.com/contests/video.aspx Also, definitely check out www.YouTube.com . Do a search on YouTube for "National American Miss" and you will see a LOT of videos that girls have uploaded from their events. Those are helpful too. -------------------------- My husband and I moved cities and I had to leave the job at the NAM office behind, but I loved working there. The people are nice and really want each and every girl to have a great experience. Good luck with your application!

A person can find tips on throwing a dance party first by contacting a local DJ who can help plan and play the music for the party. The choice of the DJ will be important to the success of the party. Then check out some recipes for great snack and food from some cook books at home or from the library. A local dollar store can help with low cost decorations for the party.
