What are the job requirements of a Show Choir?

There are very few professional show choirs, and a job as a performer in one is hard to come by---and obviously quite desirable! However, there are quite a few openings for show choir directors, both professional and volunteer. For volunteer jobs, requirements can be varied, from no experience at all to full licensure as a teacher. For paid jobs, requirements can also vary, but the fact that most jobs are connected to schools means that a) a bachelor's degree or master's degree, depending on the state/provincial requirements, and b) certification as a teacher in the relevant jurisdiction. A degree and/or experience in directing choirs, dance, or theater is often not required specifically but is all but expected.
