TOM PETTY played there and gave out several copied of the debut album at the door. I wish i still had mine. Strange how none of the sites mention that he played at the Golden West. Of course i saw the Runaways, Van Halen there also. There was also a band i cant remember the name of that opened for Van Halen. The drummer was really tall
