Fred Ebb died of a heart attack at age 76 while working on a new musical called Curtains. Others involved with the show continued the project in Ebb's memory and the show debuted on Broadway in March 2007. Ebb was also honored by the Drama Desk at a 2007 ceremony for his more than four decades of service to theater.
