because Abigail trying to get john proctor back
the major one would have to be the teenage girls dancing in the woods, it had lead all the other conflicts... ect the village people getting accused of witchcraft, Abigail had started it... always telling lies and making the situation even worse, that ended up the main conflict the hangings, which Abigail ended.
Personally, I think that John Proctor, although it may not seem so, is very sincere in his beliefs. Although we all know that he slept with Abagail, he is a man who is very persistent and will go through great lengths to prove himself. He strongly shows his beliefs during the trial in the meeting house and doesn't back down. (Even until his death.) I believe that he is probably one of the most sincere characters in the play.

I think Hale went to Proctors house because he heard that John Proctor has been missing out on Sabeth(?) days lately and his third son has not been baptised. Also I think he went to tell John Proctor that Elizabeth's name was mentioned in Court that day.
In "The Crucible," Elizabeth Proctor means that John has finally regained his integrity and dignity by choosing to die with a clear conscience, so she prays that the court does not strip away this final shred of goodness from him. She acknowledges that though John was flawed, he has found redemption through his sacrifice.
He thinks of himself as a "sinner"
I think its by always creating a dark dingy atmosphere all the time, and then there's the fact that all the characters could be accused at any second... I got this as an essay question...
He has a sister named Jesse who is married to Shane Proctor
