Nothing you go commando
you should never go on pointe not knowing how to use them. When you do ballet lessons it strenghtens your ankles so if you have never had a dance lesson DON'T go on pointe as there is a risk of injuryalso you have to make sure to get them fitted properly and have the right protection. so my advice is not to have pointe shoes unless you have ballet lessons and yourteacher has said you can.
See I did ballet from the ages of 2-11 then stopped my lessons, after completing a grade 4 exam. I then carried on doing tap, modern and ballroom dancing. I wish to take up ballet again. What standard should I get lessons at? Go back to grade 5, or because of all my other experience go higher?
Based on where you are located there may be dance studios nearby that offer lessons in ballroom dancing. Doing a search in your area or looking in the local phone book for studios is a good place to start. Also Cultural Arts Centers often provide dance classes.
if you mean what do they wear to dance in class then it would depend on which studio they go to because some studios have dress codes, and if they are actually in a dance studio paying for classes or if they are getting paid to dance. if they are getting paid to dance in a theatre they are probably going to practice dance in whatever they want(performing they will obviosly have a costume). if they are in a studio it would be pink tights, a black leotard and if its cold legwarmers and maybe a sweater or sweatshirt. if you mean everyday wear, they are mostlikely going to wear clothes just like everyone else's. they dont wear tutus to the mall! they might have some stuff that says 'dancer', or 'ballerina' though.

Okay so first you ask the guy at the front desk to go into the ballroom dancing class, then when he says it's full ask to go into the hip-hop class and when it asks you if you want to leave make sure you stay. After she is done teacher wait after class to see what she is going to say to you. She will ask you questions and then she will get you into the ballroom dancing class.
You can go all around to ballroom dance. Depending on where you are from, your area should have a ballroom dance web site that has links to the dance schools locally such as http://www.ballroomdancingdirectory.com or http://ballroomdancers.com .
Prove them wrong and suprise them all. Do what you want to do,don't be afraid of them because its much more embarrasing than standing up for yourself. Be confident.bold and show no fear at the dance lessons. Take your dancing seriously by practising and you'll have overcome your shyness.
You have to go to the shop that sells footwear. Certain kinds of shoes (I think the sneakers) allows you to dance if you wear them.
