The appropriate characters should wear age makeup, and the poor should be dirtied up, looking as poor and sweaty and as workaday as the script makes them sound.

What does Lady Capulet look like?

She looks exactly like the actress who is playing her in whatever production you are interested in. That's how theatre works: the characters look like the people playing them.

Why do actors wear stage makeup?

Noramlly its to make them look flawless. They don't want your imperfections to show on camera or on the stage. Actors also wear stage makeup because from the audience their faces can look washed out, especially under bright lights. The makeup is then used to make certain features such as lips and eyes stand out so from the audience, they look like a normal person. Stage makeup can also be used to transform a person into something else, such as an animal, an old person, etc.

What does a hair and makeup department do?

What in? Theatre/Film/TV/Magazine? If it is that type of media thing then they help complete the look of the model, celebrity ect. by giving them appropriate hair and makeup to match the outfit, for example: if the client was wearing a biker jacket and a rock style outfit, then the makeup department would make the makeup equally dramatic, and the hair department would do the same.

How does ballet a story?

Well, different dancers play different characters. For example, if you play Clara in the Nutcracker you have to try to look like her (same dress, hair and everything.) If you watch a ballet you can see characters acting and dancing at the same time!
